Best TH13 CWL Bases 2026 -- Clan War League Layouts

CWL at Town Hall 13 is some of the most competitive base design in the game. Every star matters for your clan's total score, and a base that gives up an easy 2 stars -- let alone 3 -- can cost your clan a promotion. The difference between a regular war base and a CWL base at TH13 comes down to how aggressively you protect every building in the layout.

What CWL Demands That Regular War Does Not

In regular clan wars, a base that consistently holds attackers to 2 stars is considered strong. In CWL, you want opponents to struggle to get even 2 stars -- burning their heroes, spending their spells, and either timing out or getting only 1. At TH13, this means:

• Tighter compartmentalization -- more wall layers between key defenses slow Hog Rider cleanup
• No easy Queen Walk entry points -- common Queen Walk corridors (typically edges with low-HP buildings) should be trapped or compressed
• Eagle Artillery deep in the core -- attackers burning through the outside ring to reach it waste time and troops
• Skeleton Trap placement optimized for Hog Rider paths -- not just air paths

TH13 CWL Base Archetypes

The two dominant CWL base designs at TH13 are the ring base and the box base. Ring bases place the Town Hall in the center of a series of concentric compartment rings -- attackers must burn through ring after ring to reach the core. Box bases create a dense rectangular core with the Eagle and Giga Inferno Town Hall adjacent, making pathing extremely convoluted. Both have tradeoffs, and the best CWL players maintain at least two layouts to present unfamiliar geometry to opponents.

The Role of the Giga Inferno in CWL

At TH13, the Giga Inferno upgrade level matters significantly in CWL. Higher Giga Inferno levels deal more pulse damage to Queen Walks that rush the Town Hall -- a key reason why TH13 maxers perform better in CWL than rushed players at the same level. When browsing TH13 CWL bases, prioritize layouts where the TH is protected enough to let the Giga Inferno activate before the attacking Queen reaches it.

Hero Equipment and CWL Defense

At TH13, the Barbarian King gains access to the Giant Gauntlet equipment and the Archer Queen gets the Frozen Arrow. Attackers using these at max level can punch through base compartments faster than older TH13 defenses were designed to handle.
