The Infernos serve double duty -- they protect the DE Storage from Queen Walks in farming attacks while also burning war heroes in Clan War defense. Good hybrid design at TH10 puts both Infernos adjacent to the DE Storage inside the core.
Infernos on Dark Elixir Guard
In a TH10 hybrid layout, position both Infernos flanking the Dark Elixir Storage inside the second or third compartment ring. Set both to single mode to counter Archer Queen raids that target DE. When a Barch or Giant-Healer attack attempts to reach the DE, the Infernos lock onto the highest-HP troops first -- destroying Giants and Healers before the Queen can begin her raid. This also happens to be optimal war base placement, making the hybrid layout genuinely dual-purpose.
Three Air Defense Spread for War and Farming
Three Air Defenses in a wide triangle counter Dragon and LaLoon in both war and multiplayer. The spacing that stops war Dragons also stops the farming LaLoon attacks common at TH10. One AD should sit in the core adjacent to the Infernos; the other two cover the left and right outer quadrants. This triangle pattern means no single ZapQuake spell combo can disable more than one AD.
Resource Ring Placement
Gold and Elixir Storages belong in the second ring -- not the core, not the perimeter. Core placement slows your own base design; perimeter placement means every Barch hits them immediately. The second ring protects storages behind at least two wall layers while allowing the core to focus on TH and DE defense.
