Complete TH14 Super Dragon guide for 2026. Super Dragon fireball mechanics, Scorcher combo mechanics, approach angle selection, and Warden air mode for three-star air attacks at Town Hall 14.
Super Dragons fire a massive fireball that deals significant area damage on impact. Unlike regular Dragons (which fire a single-target flame), Super Dragon fireballs damage all buildings in the explosion radius, making Super Dragons excel at clearing dense compartments where multiple buildings cluster together. A Super Dragon swarm with Lightning Spell Air Defense removal and Warden air mode three-stars most TH14 bases through sheer fireball area denial -- defenses that would outlast regular Dragon attacks are rapidly overwhelmed by stacking fireball explosions.
Standard TH14 Super Dragon swarm (320 housing): 7 to 8 Super Dragons (super boost, 140 to 160 housing), 5 Balloons (10 -- cleanup), filler Minions (remaining ~150 to 170). Spells: 3 Lightning + 1 Earthquake (destroy one AD), 2 Rage, 1 Freeze, 1 Haste (Balloon cleanup). Clan Castle: Dragon or Balloon. Warden on air mode. Super Dragon fireball radius makes tight clustering beneficial -- dropping all Super Dragons within close proximity creates overlapping fireball explosions that destroy even Scattershot-defended areas faster than spread deployment.
Step 1 -- Lightning pre-attack: Destroy the most threatening AD (typically the one closest to the center with the longest range toward the approach corridor). Step 2 -- Approach angle: Choose the base edge opposite the side with the heaviest Scattershot coverage. Super Dragon fireballs deal splash, so Scattershot cross-fire on the Super Dragon cluster is the primary threat. Step 3 -- Super Dragon cluster deployment: Drop all 7 to 8 Super Dragons in a tight cluster (3 to 4 tiles apart) rather than a spread line. Tight clusters create overlapping fireball zones that destroy buildings in large radius sectors with each firing cycle. Step 4 -- Warden air mode: Warden follows the Super Dragon cluster. Activate ability when Eagle Artillery or Scattershots fire on the cluster. Step 5 -- First Rage: Drop on the Super Dragon cluster when engaging the inner ring defenses. The fireball area damage combined with Rage destroys most inner ring defenses in 3 to 5 seconds. Step 6 -- Freeze on the Scattershot concentrating the most fire on the cluster. Step 7 -- Second Rage on the Town Hall approach. Step 8 -- Balloon and Minion cleanup: Deploy Balloons and Minions behind the Super Dragon cluster as they sweep through the base, handling outer buildings the Super Dragons ignore.
Super Dragon fireballs deal direct impact damage to the primary target and area splash damage to all buildings within a radius of approximately 2 to 3 tiles. Against compartments with three or more buildings clustered together, a single Super Dragon fireball hit damages all of them simultaneously. Seven Super Dragons firing simultaneously create a fireball barrage that destroys most clustered defense concentrations in one to two firing cycles.

What makes Super Dragons different from regular Dragons at TH14?
Super Dragons fire a fireball with area splash damage, hitting all buildings within 2 to 3 tiles of the target. Regular Dragons fire a single-target flame. Super Dragon fireballs destroy dense compartments far faster than regular Dragon attacks.
Should Super Dragons be deployed in a tight cluster or spread line?
Tight cluster (3 to 4 tiles apart). Overlapping fireball zones from a cluster destroy buildings in large radius sectors simultaneously. Spread deployment wastes the fireball area damage advantage.
How do Scattershots threaten Super Dragon attacks?
Scattershot splash damages the Super Dragon cluster. Choose an approach angle opposite the heaviest Scattershot coverage. Freeze the Scattershot concentrating the most splash on the cluster.
Do Super Dragon attacks need Lightning Spell Air Defense removal?
Yes. Destroying one AD before the Super Dragon cluster deploys reduces sustained anti-air fire enough to prevent the cluster from being overwhelmed by multi-AD concentration on the fireball approach.
